The world doesn’t stop when you’re dealing with a chronic disease like sarcoidosis. And this may feel especially true during the holidays. Whether it’s negotiating holiday parties, wondering if you’ll have enough strength to host, or being worried about the impact of COVID-19 on your plans to finally have a “normal” holiday, the challenges faced during this time can create a lot of unwanted stress which takes a big toll on your wellbeing. That’s why FSR Patient Advocate and Navigator, Susan D’Agostino, will share strategies for a mindfulness practice to strengthen resilience in everyday life, and especially during the holidays.
You may also want to check out our 4-part series on Mindfulness and Meditation as a primer ahead of this session.
About our host:
Susan D’Agostino is a certified mindfulness meditation instructor through the McLean Meditation Institute. Susan is a sarcoidosis warrior and has had a life-long interest in the mind-body connection, specifically as to how the mind affects the body in prevention of disease and in its recovery from illness. She is a retired registered nurse, and has worked in the health care setting in various roles for over 40 years.
Susan utilizes meditation and mindfulness practices in her own daily life. As your meditation and mindfulness coach, she will teach you techniques that will help you in your personal journey to health.
