Join FSR and NYU Langone pulmonologist, Dr. Kerry Hena, for a Sarcoidosis 101 webinar. This session will provide an overview of the disease including what sarcoidosis is, how it affects different organs, common symptoms, and current approaches to diagnosis and treatment. 

This session is for patients, caregivers, and those newly diagnosed.

Bio: Dr. Hena works primarily as an attending physician in the Bellevue Medical Intensive Care Unit. She serves as the Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Bellevue Hospital, the Associate Section Cheif for the Divison of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Bellevue Hospital and the DIrector of Bronchoscopy at Bellevue Hospital. As such, she remains active in COVID-related efforts and the expansion of critical care services at Bellevue Hospital Center. As Director of Bronchoscopy at Bellevue, she supervises the pulmonary, critical care fellows in the majority of flexible bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound cases there. She has specific training and expertise in sarcoidosis, including published works on WTC-exposed populations and epidemiologic analyses. As a member of NYU’s Sarcoidosis Working Group, she has led a number of sarcoidosis research initiatives and has served as a course director for NYU’s annual CME Sarcoidosis symposium. Her research interests include sarcoidosis, examination of healthcare disparities in NYC’s underserved, as well as quality improvement initiatives in the respiratory realm.
